Those of you that were members back when remember a time when LBYC members undertook a ski trip every winter. As a part of our ongoing effort to keep that tradition alive, the Mill Lake Ski Team gathered on the Thursday before Easter in Winter Park, CO.
Joe Sko and Caroline and Jeff Komas and Brooke, Eric and Ryan made the trek from Milwaukee - one group by air and the other by land. Dave Bitter, Jr. and his wife and kids came in from Charlotte, NC. Don and Lorraine Tacke's daughter and son-in-law and granddaughters flew out from Madison, and we were all met there by their Denver-located son. In addition, Greg Gerloff and Joe Byrnes were on scene from their homes in Breckenridge and Granby, CO, respectively, adding a further bit of Colorado-infused Beulah love. In the fourth annual iteration of what has become affectionately known as Skipalooza, the crew assembled and filled two different four-bedroom condos. We skied like crazy and spent some quality time in the hot tubs and generally had a blast reconnecting with old Beulah friends, and making sure the next generation understands just how valuable those Beulah friendships really are. Group dinners were held every evening, Friday pizza night at our place, Saturday tacos at theirs. It all culminated Easter Sunday evening when Dave managed to pull off a perfectly gourmet multi-course Easter dinner, centered around a 20 pound turkey! All while the kids colored Easter eggs. A good time had by all, a little bit of Beulah spirit spread to the hills of Colorado!
